Review:
At first "Flex X Cop" plot didn’t convince me and it was not on my watching list. I have seen already to many chaebol story. After a few episodes aired on Disney+, I finally decided to start watching as my kdrama release calendar was becoming less busy and it was a good call. After the first 2 episodes I finally got hooked up into the story.
Felx X Cop mix very well thriller and comedy style together. Throughout the show you can see the evolution of I-soo’s character, going from an insuferable spoiled and naive kid to a more mature and decent detective. On the other side Gang-hyun, shows her ability to lead a team with opposite personality and ends up trusting I-soo, accepting him as a full member of the investigation team 1.
I also appreciated that we got only the slighiest hint of romance betwen the two main leads as I’m a bit tired of the love hate plot. I did also really like the comedy side, especially the rivalry between Jun-young and I-soo. Some scene were hilarious. Kyung-jin fanboying was also a cute and funny touch. It is the things that I remember the most about this show.
Some might not like Ahn Bo-hyun acting but not me, I find him refreshing. I definitely think that the goofy and action side suit him pretty well. I did enjoy his other series like My name, Yumi’s Cell or Military Prosecutor Doberman. Regarding Park Ji-hyun, I’ll be honest I didn’t recognise her despite watching some of her other series, which is a shame as I really liked her character in this drama.
It seems that a season 2 has been ordered, I will most likely watch it.
